Haven’t you heard? If not, we are delighted to share with you the death of Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10. After January 12, 2016 Microsoft will no longer support these versions. Web developers’ across the globe are overjoyed.
The patch goes live on January 12 and will prompt Internet Explorer users to upgrade to a current version.
At Code83 we will be celebrating as the days of writing code specifically to support Internet Explorer is over. We will no longer be limited about and curious about whether or not something will be supported in the latest version of CSS.
This “End of life” means the browsers will no longer receive security updates or patches, leaving those running the old version open to threats.
This prompt can be disabled by corporations who have not prepared for the upgrade through the registry, however we suggest you leap to Internet Explorer 11.
Internet Explorer 11 will be the last version of Microsoft’s old browser that’s left supported, as the company continues to transition customers to using Edge on Windows 10.
If you’re still using any version of Internet Explorer below 11, it’s time to upgrade now, before it’s too late.
